“A few years back I was locking a sliding glass door and as I was turning the key, my finger hit the frame and almost took my fingernail off. It didn’t seem like a big deal so I just wrapped it with a band aid and went along with my business.

I kept having a problem with my finger because the nail wasn’t growing back. A pocket started to form on the nail portion of my finger but I didn’t pay too much attention at first.

That happened back in 2002. After three years it still had not gone away. So in September of 2005 I went to get X-rays of my finger. They told me that it was a nodular melanoma and it had spread up into my arm. They said they would have to amputate my finger in order to keep the cancer from spreading to other parts of my body.

I did decide to go in for an operation but I just had them remove the cancer from my arm. I didn’t want them to take my finger off. However, it turned out that they could not get all the cancer as it had started moving up my finger.

After I went home and they continued calling me to come in and have my finger amputated, but I told them I wanted another opinion and I started looking around on the internet for some other options. I decided to have the operation only if all else failed…and then I discovered Essiac 8.
